Programs built around your students and your setting

Every education program is scoped to the group it serves. Each program is planned around participant age or grade level, group size, program goals, schedule and frequency, location, available instruments and equipment, and budget or funding.

Programs may be delivered at schools, community and organizational facilities, client locations, approved partner facilities, and other agreed on-location settings. Remote consultation and planning are available where appropriate.

Programs are available now by inquiry and are customized for each school, organization, group, or student.

Who these programs serve

We work with elementary, middle, and high school students; school band and music programs; after-school and summer programs; youth-development organizations; and community and nonprofit organizations. Private students and adults are also welcome by appointment.

Program formats

Programs may be arranged as one-time workshops, multi-session enrichment programs, after-school or summer programming, band and percussion sectional support, ensemble and rehearsal assistance, demonstrations and career-exploration sessions, or private instruction by appointment.

The final format, schedule, frequency, and scope are confirmed during the planning process.

What participants work on

Programs focus on rhythm and timing, coordination, musicianship, ensemble listening, and creative expression. Production-focused sessions may introduce arrangement, rhythm programming, beat-making, and composition. Creative-technology sessions may cover microphones, mixers, signal flow, recording, and live sound, along with career exposure in music technology, media, and live entertainment.

Education informed by real production experience

Pure Power Music is an operating audio visual, live event, music, and media production company. That professional experience informs how each program is planned and taught.

Depending on the program scope and setting, participants may explore percussion instruments, microphones, mixers, MIDI controllers, recording tools, production software, and live-event workflows while learning how creative ideas move from practice and production into performance and presentation.

Instructor background

Programs are led by Timothy J. Edwards Jr., founder of Pure Power Music, also known professionally as Tim.

His background includes more than seven years of concert band, marching band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, and drumline experience, along with four years of drumline section leadership. He studied music theory, keyboard, and private percussion at the University of Akron and completed Avid Pro Tools 101, 110, 201, and 210M professional coursework.

His professional work includes live sound, event production, recording, music production, DJ entertainment, and video and media production. He brings that active production experience into each program.

4. You receive a written proposal.

   The program scope, format, schedule, responsibilities, and cost are confirmed in writing before anything is scheduled.
