Meet Timothy Jay Edwards Jr
Owner · Musician · Producer · Audio Engineer · Production Professional
Timothy J. Edwards Jr., also known professionally as Tim, is the founder and owner of Pure Power Music LLC.
His background began as a percussionist and musician before expanding into music production, recording, audio engineering, live sound, DJ entertainment, video, and event production. That combination of creative and technical experience continues to shape the way Pure Power Music approaches its work today.
Rather than treating music, audio, video, and events as completely separate disciplines, Timothy approaches production as a connected process, understanding how the creative idea, performers, technology, audience, and final presentation all affect one another.
Musician first
Timothy began playing percussion at a young age and continued through school, including four years of drumline leadership. His musical development later expanded into keyboards, music theory, production, recording, and arranging.
He studied music at the University of Akron, including coursework in music theory, keyboard, and private percussion, and continued developing his skills independently through performance, production, engineering, and professional projects.
Today, Timothy continues to perform as a musician and works with a live band for selected performances, events, and creative productions.
From the studio to live production
As Pure Power Music expanded, Timothy's work moved beyond studio production into live sound, event technology, video production, DJ entertainment, livestreaming, and technical event support.
His professional development has included Avid Pro Tools coursework through the 101, 110, 201, and 210M levels, along with years of practical experience working across recording sessions, performances, corporate events, weddings, community programs, artist productions, and live-event environments.
This combination of musical and technical experience allows Pure Power Music to approach projects from both perspectives: what the audience should experience creatively and what must happen technically to make that experience work.
